Liz Clark’s Sunday Thoughts – I have enjoyed a super week at The LizianShop in Nottingham’s Victoria Market. And have been overwhelmed by the support from our customers. What is interesting is the number of new customers who have arrived at the shop, and all have come from our connections here on LEN and the social media streams. The feedback from customers is enlightening and encouraging.
I feel we have turned the corner, and there will be a significant turnaround in the circumstances over the next three weeks. Indeed, the one-way system at the market is now removed my announcement was: Great news – from Saturday, June 20th – there will be no one-way system in the market – News from Govt that the ‘R’ number is dropping means an easing of the one-way policy we’ve had this week.
With the probability that most social distancing rules and many of the lockdown restrictions will ease or come to an end on July 4th, I will confirm we will be anticipating being able to run the September Well Being Show at Newark on the 19-20 September. I have spoken to the venue management, and they agree that we can organise the event. Therefore we will be taking bookings for those who wish to attend the show at the Lady Eastwood Centre.
Remember, The Lady Eastwood Centre is a large and modern facility. We can provide proper spacing between the stands and the access to talk rooms is very open and free moving. Ian, myself and the showground management have already worked out exceptional facilities for hygiene which will go beyond any guidelines. We will invest in providing every opportunity for the shows to become a great success. We will use every facility to keep our Visitors informed about the future of The Community’s shows. Indeed it is evident we will fulfil this obligation as we have provided daily connections over the last three months. We are still connected and have a growing social media presence.
We made the right decision to return all stall fees to Community Members right at the beginning of the lockdown. Therefore we begin from a new foundation and establish a fair way of trading. And we will go further with this aspect of the shows: When Community Members receive their booking forms on Tuesday the June 23rd they will discover we have lowered the prices of the stands for 2020. In particular, the reduction is most substantial for healers and therapists. Ian and I know we HAVE` to help Community Members have the best advantage when returning to the shows.
I will provide the outcomes of Visitor surveys as soon as they are complied. Visitors should be confident LizianEvents Ltd will follow the desires of Visitors, and we will fulfil every reasonable request even if it means digging deep into our reserves. We should be in no doubt gaining the support of Visitors: old and new: will take time and patience. I feel we have the opportunity to make our already well-loved and respected shows to a higher level. And I know we will have the support of all of the loyal Visitors and Community Members.

I think that this is worth trying to do. We have experienced, and are experiencing, an event without equal for a century (The Spanish Flu). There is no rule book or manual. Let’s see what happens. Who knows what things will look like in three months time?
The restrictions are lifting Gary – and we need to either move or ‘wait and see’ – I see we have already had criticsim for making this announcement – people have opinions but the only ones which matter are the people who are eager to stand and Visit the Well Being Shows – Thank you for yoru support – ian
