Firstly, we thank all the Community exhibitors who attended this superb show. Their names are found at the end of this short appraisal.
Without a doubt, the show has been a tremendous success. We no longer publish attendance figures. However, we exceeded all previous show footfall. I am confident all who attended the event would confirm the claim.
So, what was the formula? It is simply the vast number of differing stands. The balance of genre and the incredible knowledge base of community exhibitors. This combination became the catalyst for 100’s of people to attend.
As usual, we greeted people visiting from all corners of the UK. A visitor I talked to had travelled from Kent! Although it will be fair to comment, we knew of others who’d travelled from Newcastle upon Tyne and Wales, so the reach of our promotion and mailouts have truly made their mark. However, we should accept the promotion and mailouts are only a conduit of information. It is the message that makes the show succeed.
The message?
The message is when over 90 people converge with a common purpose of producing a first-class event; then the people will travel to enjoy the show.
The Choice
The choice of pruning three shows from the calendar was not taken lightly. However, it is the correct choice. We believed that fewer shows would mean more interest and more excellent attendance. And this has proven to be accurate. A greater focus has genuinely sharpened the experience.
