Can An Event Have Collective Consciousness?
Indeed, established shows and events hold a collective consciousness. This is a widely accepted aspect of all established entities and is not limited to humans. Collective consciousness can be simply explained: it is a legacy of thoughts, ideas, actions, and processes that become embedded in an entity’s evolution. It does not need to be explicitly taught or referenced; it exists in everyone who has participated. It matters not whether the contribution is positive or negative; there will still be a legacy of collective thought from past participants. This, in itself, can be an attraction, akin to bees returning to the hive.
Although there is an interesting caveat: negative aspects can and are overwhelmed when focused attention is given to the positive purpose of a cause or project. Indeed, those who become part of or participate in negative aspects often leave, hoping to harm or destroy the union they once loved. Over time, the original group recovers and becomes new, strong, and refreshed. This demonstrates the power of true magic; it can repel negativity and even thrive on hurt. Very often, those who oppose others’ prosperity find that failure becomes an unbearable burden, frequently blaming others for their difficulty in achieving success.
I write about this because, in a spiritual quest, there are often misconceptions regarding the purpose of uniting people. However, I am referring to The Original Mansfield Mind Body and Spirit Show here. Let me be clear: hundreds of individuals have contributed to this event over the past thirty years. No single person or organisation can be considered to have ultimate influence. The entity known as The Original Mansfield Mind Body and Spirit Show is larger than any one individual.
Allow me to expand on the premise:-
The original Mansfield Mind, Body and Spirit Show was established thirty years ago. Liz and I exhibited at the show for around fifteen years, with Liz selling crystals, which prompted our shop and me, as a reader.
Looking through old show guides, we notice that many of the people who participated in the events no longer trade or work in the esoteric field. It is easy to understand why. Those who were in their forties at the start of the show are now in their seventies and may lack the stamina for the hard work involved. And of course, some have entered their final sleep. However, a few from the early shows still remain. Not many, but enough to be influential and to have a role in the continuation of each succeeding show. And of course, some exhibitors have exhibited for over a decade. Taken together, they form a powerful and influential collective consciousness. And this is where we are today.
My view is that there is a genuine need to revisit and re-evaluate the Original Mansfield Mind Body and Spirit Show and lay the groundwork for its future. Should we consider the show in light of its original purpose and intention? I believe so; there is a living tree of collective wisdom, understanding, and knowledge within the body of the show that must never be lost or ignored. The power of re-establishment comes from the written word and the reflection of what now resides with the fifty or so exhibitors, who are responsible for ensuring the show’s growth and transforming it into an entity through which they can prosper. It is an opportunity for them to take ownership of their show and restore it to the shining light of knowledge that attracts visitors and holds the key to significant peace and contentment.

This is the level of the material, similar to the values retailers uphold at the Original Mansfield Mind, Body and Spirit Show. Stallholders who genuinely serve the visitors’ deepest needs. with the inherent value of everything they sell. A value that goes beyond the profit, a value that is acknowledged by the visitor. Inherent value is realised when goods are purchased for resale with ethical, moral, and spiritual integrity. For example: sourcing ethically made and community-produced goods. Demanding conformity to human rights. Accepting that value for money and the depth of a customer’s purse or pocket overwhelms that extra pound of profit. These are the people who are within the collective consciousness of this event. And this is why the show will thrive, and visitors will feel the vibration of integrity. Here, visitors can buy items representing this earthly connection to the esoteric.

The element of intelligence. Within this element of the Original Mansfield Mind, Body and Spirit Show, we stand at the seat of learning. Some travel to promote their training courses, while others deliver incredible talks and presentations that greatly influence those seeking alternatives in mind, body, or spirit. There is optimism to be enjoyed, gateways to opportunities, and the realisation of fulfilled ambition. We carefully listen to and look at the sages of wisdom. To the best of our knowledge, those who promote their work either on the stands or in the talk rooms are qualified in their respective genres. Many have taken the time and long-term endeavour to gain an established and recognised qualification. More than a few hold degrees and are members of respected professional organisations.
Visitors can meet writers of self-help, inspirational, and esoteric books. Visitors can meet, admire and buy the work of spiritually centred artists. This is where the intellect of Air and the emotion of Water meet!

In a world where facts seem to be demanded by those who follow deception, it is easy to dismiss the spiritual counsellor. Let’s be realistic and recognise that those who choose the path of a spiritual counsellor, a reader, a medium, a psychic, or a Tarot reader are sometimes ridiculed by those who cannot understand the significance of such roles in a so-called advanced society. However, the reality of the contemporary spiritual counsellor is one of a healer, and this has always been at the heart of their work.
Those who follow this path are responsible, ethical, and kind. Most are highly qualified, often more so than those who doubt their integrity and ability. Many hold formal qualifications, including degrees in psychology, humanities, counselling, sociology, and even theology. Many are trained in recognised national organisations, specialising in areas such as counselling, bereavement, emotional distress, and relationship issues. They learn various modalities to enhance their work as spiritual counsellors. They are the essence of Fire within the show.

The soulful and spiritual search for the divine essence in every human. It is the creative force that can be harnessed for good or destruction. It is the power of transformation. It is the power of the universe and within the essence of The Original Mansfield Mind Body and Spirit Show.
Those attending the event know it has not become a random collection of exhibitors. It is a powerful unity of like-minded individuals who contribute to the essence of the event’s 30-year history. They add to the collective consciousness that will exist within the show and all future shows. Everyone is different, with varying beliefs or rituals. Yet, all help to give the event genuine energy.
The future is made within the actions of today.
