5:2 Lifestyle – Update – 27:04:19 – The interest in this series of articles is more significant than anticipated. I have received three emails regarding the weight measurements. All three suggest metric sizes should be used. Therefore kilograms will be the measure used in future.
An addition to the measurement of weight will also be part of future posts BMI or Body Mass Index is to be recorded. A full article will follow about BMI and why it is crucial for us to keep track of this aspect of weight control.
I am aware of keeping this progress report as simple as possible: However, some people will find this information useful. There is also a need for a reference point as to targets and what is involved in attaining the objective.
My ideal weight is eighty-five kilos: the objective is to attain the target over a maximum of two and a half years. During the first eighteen months, the focus is a twenty-eight-kilo reduction. Today’s weight is 128 kilo: therefore, during October 2020 the scales should be at 100 kilograms.
twelve two litre bottles of sparkling water = 3 stones 13 1/4 pounds
confirm – three stones – thirteen and 1/4 pounds
I will use water as an additional marker alongside the loss or gain figures. This puts the figures in perspective. So the metric measurements will be easier to follow for those of you who would have prefered to stay with stones and pounds.
one litre of water weighs one kilogram
twelve bottles = 25 kilograms
confirm – twenty – five point one kilo
After some research, the discovery is white body fat is slightly less dense than water. Visceral fat is denser than water. Visceral fat surrounds my heart, liver, kidneys and is the target. And this is the reason we need to consider the BMI which indicates the ‘hidden’ visceral fat. As mentioned in earlier articles I feel mindset is essential to success. An understanding of the reasons for achieving the goal reinforces mindset, willpower and determination. Possibly more important than which weight loss method is used.
Although this is a short and non scheduled update. It is necessary to publish as soon as possible to avoid confusion later. In future articles, there will be two base-lines. Actual weight and Body Mass Index. The change from stones and pounds to kilograms is for clarity, and so we can use bottled water as a guide to exactly how much weight is being lost.
Todays Weight in Stones and Pounds: And Kilos Plus BMI
