There is no doubt that the investment in time and money has paid dividends in this past weekend’s Staffordshire Well Being Show. We all knew the show would ‘fly’ within the first 30 minutes of doors opening. The Community were ready for an excellent event, and this expectation was more than fulfilled.
We have indeed established a recognisable brand, and this impressed every Visitor. Praise for the event; the talks and quality of therapies were almost too good to be true! I’m not joking when I write Visitors were queuing at the reception desk to offer their thanks and positive appraisals of their visit.
Attendance numbers were treble the previous show. And the dwell time on Saturday was well over six hours. Now, I have to write that many attendees spoke of high takings, and two commented that they had taken record amounts at their stalls! I never comment on this aspect of a Well Being Event. However, in this instance, the reference confirms the show’s success.
Many of you will know we could see the potential of The Staffordshire Well Being Show two years ago. But we knew it would be a long haul to make the event viable. We diverted profits for other events and kept the stall prices low to encourage people to attend and make the event work in the long term. In the present economic climate, it is of little use to expect attendees to pay full table prices when the expectation of early success is practically nill. We believe another three shows will have to be subsidised before The Staffordshire Well Being Show will become established and a calendar date. Readers can be sure the show will become everything we initially envisaged.
All that remains is to thank the attending Community who have reaped the rewards of their dedication to show. There were many new faces. Many exhibiting for the first time. By four ‘o clock on Sunday afternoon, every one of the fantastic Community realised they had contributed to a spectacular event.
