Newark Well Being Show Review

We put significant effort into promoting this event, and the strong turnout validated our work. We enjoyed a steady flow of people through the door, resulting in strong overall footfall. By lunchtime, the event had settled into a steady momentum. Most importantly, most visitors stayed for the whole day. This is more significant than overall numbers.

Richard’s early-morning sound bath therapy sessions are always well attended, and this weekend’s session was no different. As was Milla’s earlier drumming session. Milla and Richard are truly a valuable asset to our events, and their popularity continues to grow. I feel we really need to address the opportunity to add more music to the shows. The belly dancers have also gained a solid following; we’ve received positive comments about this new addition to the show format.

Most community members fared well business-wise, and I was heartened to receive more than the usual few reports of sound trading. Information stalls seemed to attract more visitor interest than usual. The floor always ebbs and flows as the talk rooms fill and the floor empties as the talks conclude and visitors return to the trading floor. This will always affect how busy the event seems and cannot be used as a reference point for overall attendance.

Seeing returning customers is always heartwarming. This has two aspects: the previous shows are memorable, and brand loyalty is strong. Another factor is the breadth of the visitors’ age range. We see visitors from young to ‘slightly older’ coming through the door, which is always a good sign.

I’ll take this opportunity to address this topic. Attracting new visitors, particularly younger ones, to our events is crucial. This demands consistent promotion on the appropriate social media platforms. I know this is a tough challenge, and long-term success will require commitment and patience. It is important to spread the word for all events, no matter what genre or organiser.

Was the weekend a success? The answer must be yes! See you in Newark in February 2027.
