Aloe Vera – Part Two

Aloe Vera

It seems Aloe has many benefits. from boosting the immune system to lowering weight. Aloe is worth close scrutiny. There are many people who use this natural product every day and swear by the healing properties of the plant. Let us take a look-see.

I have researched Aloe over the last few days and there is nothing but praise for the healing ability of either the drinks or gels. many believe it is a ‘heal-all’ which is great for external skin disorders and internal disease.

Many ladies consider it an essential supplement it has a remarkable track record for helping with menopausal ‘hot flushes’. At the other end of the path of life, the soothing skin gels work wonders for teenage acne. So, its property as soothing, cooling and moistening, helps clear inflammatory and irritating heat, as already mentioned above during the menopause. Aloe helps with inflammatory skin and digestive problems, such as acne, rosacea and IBS.

The anecdotes of relief are interesting and research backs the claims:-

Psoriasis is a skin disorder which is in effect hyperactive skin cell production. People with psoriasis produce new skin cells and shed old ones at a rate of about 10 times faster than most people, which leads to persistently dry, irritated skin. Studies of aloe vera treatments for psoriasis have yielded positive results. One study in North Carolina tested a topical hydrophilic cream containing just 0.5 percent aloe gel. After using the cream three times daily for four weeks, 83 percent of the participants didn’t report any more psoriasis symptoms, compared to 6 percent of participants who were given a placebo.

Aloe has a good reputation for detoxifying the body. How does it work? Aloe is full of amino acids, vitamins and minerals. It is one of nature’s most effective cleansers. It can help strengthen digestion and rid the body of waste. This detoxifies the body naturally.

There is evidence to suggest Aloe lowers cholesterol and has a beneficial effect on blood sugar levels. It can be used as a complementary product to help with diabetes and obesity. And while on the subject of obesity: Aloe is excellent for digestion: it is worth trying for anyone who suffers from digestion problems like IBS. The healing and soothing properties of Aloe can help with the painful symptoms.’

Aloe vera juice contains vitamins A, C, E, B1, B2, B3, B6, B12 and folic acid. It’s also rich in minerals like calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron, selenium and potassium. Therefore it is suitable to increase vitamin and mineral intake.

On a personal note, I should mention I have used Aloe to help with the scaring of an accident which caused a deep wound to my leg. The cut healed without infection and with great speed. The scarring is minimal and the doctor commented on the ‘remarkable rate of healing’. I have used the gel after mild sunburn and it was effective at re-hydrating the skin. I use Ever Living Products tooth gel every day and a problem with gum bleeding is entirely cleared.

I looked at the possible side effects of Aloe and the only reference to problems came from excessive ingestion which resulted in a mild laxative effect. Otherwise, there are no major problems reported. There is no surprises here as the quantities Forever Living Products sell mess be in the millions of units (gallons or gels) per year. If there were to be adverse affects the would be an awareness arising from these figures.

While this is by no means an in-depth research of Aloe, we can conclude that the products sold by Forever Living are safe and the evidence suggests Aloe Vera is a safe and beneficial product. I am not a medical practitioner or health professional: Therefore, I can only comment from the perspective of my own experience using Aloe products. I will continue to use Aloe and see no reason to question the claims made by the many thousands of articles which extol its virtues.

  1. We are all looking for a better connection to spirit. It is known that damage to the pineal gland through crystallisation of products such as chlorine in toothpastes actually blocks or hinders our pineal gland. The Aloe Vera toothpaste is free from chlorine and is an exceptionally good product as it also heals the gums when brushing.
